Nashville's Scooter Community Unites!

Hello Family,

It’s March, it looks like she came in like a lamb and I hope she doesn’t go out like a lion! 

Hopefully, temperatures will be uphill from here so we can start enjoying our scooters! February was an exceptionally warm month and some of us got to ride a bit. We even had an event (ride) hosted by the Scootnashville folk that turned out to be fun. 

Also, in February, in honor of the month of love we were able to show some scooter love to one of our scooterist friend and loyal customer Randy Anderson! He brought in his beautiful Bajaj Chetak scooter in for some well needed 10k mile Service, Tires and a Windshield Installation.  The bill was quite hefty and Randy had just gone through some recent medical issues so he wasn't able to work full time. Dimelo Motor Works felt compelled to reach out to other scooterists to see if we could raise funds for his bill and this is what happened ...

We approached our fellow Scootnashville network and the Christian Motorcyclist Association and between them and DMW we were able to raise a total of $255.55 toward his bill! That was almost half of his bill. Randy did not know about the fundraiser that we named “The DMW Scooterist Fund” but he was so grateful at the gesture of our scooter community and this is what he said: 


"Imagine my surprise, when Junior told me of his efforts to help raise money to help me out. And the response was heartwarming. Thank you to Junior and the DMW scooter family. I'm happy to see there is going to be an ongoing fund to help someone else. And I will take any opportunity to pass the kindness forward.  Ride happy.

I sincerely want to thank all of Scootnashville and The Christian Motorcyclist Association for their support. It was a beautiful and kind thing to do and to see Randy ride with us during the rust run was priceless!

Better Bearings For Your Riding Pleasure

Hey Family,

Recently, I had a Genuine Buddy 150cc come in that had a bad wobble on the front end only at hi speeds and also wierd vibrations. After much diagnosis, I found the bearings to be worn. The wheel would spin fine when it was not under load and the bearing didn't have any play in it. So I assumed it was ok. It wasn't until I put the wheel on my tire balancer machine that I noticed abnormal rotation in some areas and when I put a load on the wheel, the bearing snaged. Once I removed the bearing I could tell they were manufactured cheaply. These were Taiwanese bearings that I thought would be high quality. They are single sealed when they should be double sealed and are very lightly greased. I recently upgraded them to a much better US Manufactured double sealed bearing and it made a huge difference! Now the scooter feels tight and smooth! 

So if you are in need of bearings, or want to upgrade your existing ones on your scooter or engines bring them to DMW and we will get you hi quality US standard bearings! I will recomend them to anyone bringing in their scooters for any type of work that will expose the bearings, like tire changes, brakes, etc.  Might as well get the right stuff in there! :0)

Two Seals

Single row deep groove ball bearings have deep uninterrupted raceways and a high degree of conformity between balls and raceways. This enables them to carry axial loads in both directions, in addition to radial loads, even at high speeds. Bearings with shields or seals at both sides are filled with a grease which has good rust inhibiting properties suitable for operating temperatures of -22F to +230F. All bearings have a pressed cage of sheet steel and are available either plain, shields on both sides, or two rubber seals on both sides

Hello, Family!

Well, the powers that be wanted to give us one last Saturday of cold weather. A few of us die-harders showed up ready to ride - that's dedication!  But we decided to postpone the DMW scooter ride to next Saturday - April 23.  Same time, same meeting place. If you were unable to make it this time, you now have the chance to enjoy your scooter in warm weather with a bunch of cool folks!  I look forward to seeing everybody there!

Winter Is Officially OVER!

Happy Spring, Dimelo Motor Works Family!

Winter is officially over and, even if there's a slight chill in the air, it's time to get ready and get riding!

In February, we took a road trip up to the Indianapolis Dealer Expo and saw tons of new bikes and gear.  We got to meet and hang out with cool folks from our affiliates - Parts for Scooters, Interstate Batteries, Genuine Scooters & Scooterworks. Look for these brands when you're adding to your scooter/scooter gear collection!  Also, the Vespa & Peace Motor Sports reps
were super-great to spend time with.  Everyone knew their stuff and we all want to deal with people who know how to
take care of you!

The shop is FULL of scooters! Now, having a shop full of scooters is great but getting all those scooters in shape and out on the road is even better!  Our tech is working all out to ensure quality work in a timely fashion.  If you're not living in a bubble, you've noticed the price of gas inching and mile-ing up - scooters are PERFECT for keeping your gas cost down!

TIME FOR A DIMELO MOTOR WORKS SCOOTER RIDE!  Saturday, April 16th - We'll meet at Riverside Village (Riverside Drive and McGavock Pike in Inglewood) at 10 am and we'll be ready to roll out at 10:30.  Go a little earlier if you want to eat breakfast at Mitchell's Deli or Bagel Face and definitely get your caffeine on at Sip.  We'll be riding along Natchez Trace to Lepers Fork - Puckett's Grocery is our destination (www.puckettsgrocery.com/nashville/).  It's about 26 miles and is a really pretty ride.  There we can lunch and hang out like a proper scooter gang.  And we'll ride back on exciting Hillsboro Pike!  This ride is definitely beginner and family friendly - from 50cc bikes and up.  We wait for each other and always put safety and community first.  We're also holding a  drawing for a free Amsoil synthetic oil change among ride participants.  Exciting!  Fun ride, great folks, AND the chance for a free oil change!  So, make your plans to join us and get ready to make some riding buddies!

February Update!
